SCIENCE in 5th grade: SARDINE DISSECTION
In 5th grade we are studying the VERTEBRATES: the five different groups of vertebrates (mammals, reptiles, amphibians, birds and fish), their common and their different features/characteristics: how do they reproduce themselves (if they lay eggs or not) how do they breath, if they breath through LUNGS or through GILLS, what do they eat, etc.
We are also studying if they are cold-blooded or if they are warm-blooded, as well as the main functions of their SKELETON and BONES.
Down here you can have a look at our sardine's dissections, to get to observe it and locate its: fins, tail, anus, guts, gills, eyes and mouth.
We can see the sardine's GUTS.
Carefully with the plastic knife, we can observe the sardine's GILLS.
Observe the sardine's fins!
